Gameday: Avalanche @ Oilers

It's a big day today as the Avalanche take on the Oilers in game #1 of CBC's Hockey Night in Canada coverage while the Predators, Flames and Wild are all in action as well. The Wild, who are part of game #3 on HNIC, head to Calgary to try and extend their stranglehold on the NW division.

Playoff Odds
If the Avalanche win tonight, coupled with a Blackhawk win over the Predators and a Wild win over Calgary, their playoff odds will jump to 91.5%. Them's some good odds! Of course, that's just for making the playoffs, not for winning the division. To win the division, it would actually be better for the Flames to win this one. But seriously, how can anyone cheer for the Flames?

Starting Goaltender
Much ado has been made over who should get the start in goal tonight. Theodore has been "the man" for a while now but Budaj has been lights out against the Oilers all season. Neither the RMN nor the DP had a mention of who it will be and in the meantime, I'd advise everyone to relax and wait for the game to start.

Game time
The puck drops at 3:08 ET and I'm curious who we'll get as announcers on CBC. Craig Simpson will likely be part of the crew as he tends to cover the Oilers beat but as for play-by-play, I haven't a clue.
